A21 July Update

"Red carpet, performance art, live music, and a group of people who passionately wanted to celebrate freedom gathered together in Charleston, South Carolina on June 23rd for The A21 Campaign's first gala event.

It was also the launch of our South Carolina office which made the night even more exciting! The event was led by our newest A21 team member Lisa Surratt, who brought her southern charm and hospitality to everyone who walked into the stylized venue.

From the presentations all the way to donations, the night was a journey through the dark side of human trafficking while demonstrating the hope of freedom through the hands of those who care. Local artists donated beautiful art pieces and photographs for an art exhibition while a live performance art piece demonstrated silhouetted women trapped in boxes.

A21 founder, Christine Caine, was on hand to meet guests as well as speak about how everyday people from around the globe are stepping up to change their world, fight for freedom, and abolish modern-day slavery. The historic city in which the event was held is steeped with rich American history. 75% of all slaves entering the American slave trade in the 1700s came through Charleston. Roughly 200 years later, we stood on the city's soil and declared freedom is for all!

The event was on the heels of two new women entering our Greek shelters. Our newest survivors are thriving in our care and grateful for their chance to live in freedom...freedom provided by our trafficking hotline launched only six weeks ago. The toll-free number was accessed and enabled a victim to become a survivor! From around the globe, in different countries and cities, we are holding hands in resistance to the evil of slavery.

From Charleston to Greece, Bulgaria to Ukraine, London to Australia, California to your computer, we stand in solidarity and believe freedom is for all!

The fight continues to wage on and we are grateful for your support. We believe that together we can truly abolish the injustice of slavery in the 21st century. Together we can stand for justice. Together we will declare freedom for all."

Re: A21 July Update

So great to follow these "updates". I guess that this sentence has an ursearchable impact "enabled a victim to become a survivor". In fact it´s just the beginning of a life that was dreamed by God to reach fullness.
