Miracle amidst the rubble
By Leesha Nikkanen16 Feb 2010
A month after having been buried under a pile of rubble, when all hope seemed completely lost, Muncie was unearthed by some civilians cleaning the market. The search and rescue had been called off weeks prior, and there was no hope of finding someone alive, yet Evan Muncie proves that anything is possible.
The doctors who attended him gaff at how the malnourished and dehydrated man could have survived for so long without water. Muncie told the doctors that while he was trapped, someone had brought him water. With no water source around, and unable to move, there IS no logic to Evan's survival; Evan Muncie's story is inexplicable.
Miracles still do happen. Similar miraculous stories have been brought to light in the aftermath of the disaster of 9/11, and are more common than most would think. Our local church sees the unfathomable occur regularly from financial breakthroughs to healings.
Often times, we - who are followers of Christ - relegate the mysterious to the Old Testament, or to the early church, however, miracles still exist. If God exists, there can be miracles which take place beyond the norms of the constraints of this world.
The bottom line is that, if we believe in God, we can be assured that good will come our way. No matter which dream, or promise, or desire may be rotting under a pile of life, we can be assured, that God is a God of miracles.

Re: Miracle amidst the rubble
I loved your final words Leesha. So true...If we declare that we believe in the Son of God who died and rose again we MUST expect miracles happen. Not just that, but also ask and believe that God can use us as His "miracles makers" on earth.
God bless.

Re: Miracle amidst the rubble
I couldn't believe this when I heard about it the other day. My initial thought, which I'm disappointed in myself for thinking, was disbelief. how could someone go a month without water?
this article is exactly right. miracles are happening all the time, I've just got to keep myself from giving into disbelief.
thanks leesh!

Re: Miracle amidst the rubble
Full on!! I remember someone writing on their Twitter, "may angels minister where humans can't"
Ps 72:12
For He will deliver the needy when he cries,The poor also, and him who has no helper.
I love that. Whether it's through us or Him supernaturally doing so, we serve a God is not distant and removed from our need, and neither should we from the needs of others.
