This love, real love, must be demonstrated

By the I-HEART people
1 Feb 2010
We're all moving somewhere. All our hearts are turned toward someone and our minds consumed by something. At every moment our focus is somewhere. That's why we, as a collective, when with a single vision can have a REAL impact.

Love is a declaration not a feeling. Love moves and acts. What is love if it's not shared?

We are in the midst of figuring out how WE can TOGETHER have the greatest effect. You included. So... we want your input. How do YOU think WE, as I-HEART should combine our hearts and efforts toward being a part of the solution to the injustice of our world?

What would you like to see happen? What can you see us doing? Building 1000 wells? Freeing 1000 slaves? Building sustainable communities? Raising awareness with local members of government? The opportunity for us is endless.

So, please think. Even dream a little. Don't be scared. Be creative and share your thoughts here. Let's figure out what it means to UNITE, together.

What should our collaborative WORKS be?

If 1000 of us donated just $5 each, we could build a well.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

I think it would be incredible and so huge for us as a generation to actually do something, to not just be talk and attend conferences but step out and do something. Whether it is 1000 wells or free 1000 slaves, we need to do this. There is no time like the present. I have been reading the book "Half The Sky" and am really wanting to get involved with human trafficking now, and freeing slaves. In the book it takes like $250 sometimes to free one person from sex trafficking, wouldn't it be grand if we could with $250,000 free those slaves, lets make a goal and accomplish it! I'm excited to see what we as a UNITED people of Jesus can DO!!

Wow thats a great idea! I always wanted to do something about Human Trafficking but I never knew what I could do. That would be amazing if we could free 1000 of them. Cause who else will? Other people are just buying them for that price we would be purchasing their freedom!

Yes, I love this idea. We can most definitely do this! And thank you for sharing the book, Half the Sky. I just looked it up and you may have just changed a couple lives - I've sent the links out to some women I know who are struggling in their helplessness. I try to lift them up with my words, but these words will do infinitely more. Thanks!

I'm with Brandy! I am now reading Half The Sky and I'm broken! As a woman living in the United States, I have freedoms that I take for granted at times. This book is opening my eyes in ways that I can't just sit here is my safe home anymore and call myself a christian woman! There are too many women around the world that have no freedoms and no choice but to be beaten, sold to men, and killed more often than not! We, as christian women must rise and take part in freeing these girls in whatever capacity that God has us do! And every woman must read Half The Sky!

I do not think we need not do much .. our prayers are powerful and effective, whether by the poor people in Haiti, or for our neighbors who suffer or who have had their homes destroyed by floods in Brazil, or relatives living or fighting those who suffer from hunger and thirst every day in Africa, God hears and answers.

We are the answers to the prayers, God put us here and gave us the resources to help in every way possible. If you don't know what to do, pray for guidance and opportunity and never stop looking for ways in which God has provided you to provide for others. Help to be the change. Keep up the prayers too, God is moving everywhere!!

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

This is pretty clever. To bounce off of your prayer idea, think about the user base of the i-heart website. If we could commit a certain time of every day to prayer for any given thing, we could have multiple people constantly praying around the world for that given thing just through website users jumping on board. Prayer is an incredibly powerful thing and a lot could happen this way.
What if we focused on a weekly prayer point. Each user commits to praying about it for ten minutes a day. Could be revolving relief from natural disaster, human trafficking, a major awareness event, or anything!
What do you guys think?

Building 1000 wells? Freeing 1000 slaves? Building sustainable communities? Raising awareness with local members of government? As you said “Be creative and share your thoughts” I think we can do all of them! We just need the will to take action, together, because the need is huge. The youth can be so devoted and are so extravagant. Why not create an big event for a certain charity, like Compassion or to help Haiti, there are enough of them. This event could take place the same day in different countries. We would be united in prayer, in thought and for the same cause. It could be a fun recreational afternoon, a concert, a dinner party,… the possibilities are endless but every dollar collected in each place will be use for help. It could be also an opportunity to talk and share with the community what the needs are, and create a greater respond after the event. So, well this would be my dream, I know a little “impossible” but some could be inspired. The point is anyway to be UNITED WITH ONE HEART and ONE LOVE for Christ and in Christ. God bless you all. Much love.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

I am going to say that at first we need to get the message out ( in America anyways ) to the college campuses. Colleges like Liberty, Lee, Oral Roberts, and other smaller colleges like them. There are so many college students I know that love Hillsong's music and they Love God but they dont know about the message that we are trying to get out. Its not just about spreading the gospel, thats key, but its about loving and meeting the needs of the poor. About helping the widow and orphan in their distress (James 1:27).

What I would propose at first is to get the film ( We are all in this together ) to our college campuses. If we can show this message to America's future generation of pastors, missionaries, teachers, and major players in the Christian world. We can inspire a generation to do God's will. If we can get the energy of the American youth to Unite and reach out to help the global church. We can change this world.

So I am asking Hillsongs to consider getting these college campuses on board to show this film. And then turning I-heart into something huge. I see it in America everyday, kids on campuses looking for a revolution, looking for a cause. I am asking you guys to consider this. (I go to Toccoa Falls College and I would love the opportunity to show this film and movement to my classmates). Ill even buy a copy of the film if I have to.

Secondly I would love to see I-heart become the center piece to unite organizations like Invisible Children, To Write Love on Her Arms, Toms, and many other organizations like it.

If we can unite and pray, and encourage one another and provide forums and events where we can donate directly to these organizations, I believe we can do a great thing. I would love to see 10000 wells, 100000 pairs of shoes for kids in Africa so they can attend school. I would love to see money going to the churches in China and Japan. I would love to see God break the bonds of the caste system in India. And I would love for the Church to save thousands of kids from dying of hunger across our globe. All 20 causes lets do it. Nothing is impossible for God, if we come together and pray, and move as God leads us. Nothing can stop His plan and work from being done.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

I would suggest some idea that could keep (us) the I-heart community engaged. I loved what Alana e Tomas mentioned above, we could move working on some specifics “goals”. The Idea of 1000 “something” would be aimed to some of (or all) 20 causes.
We establish a specific date to pray and act together in order to reach our “targets”.Just as we were doing for the release of “we are all in this together” film. Perhaps something similar to Christmas list...the like.
How it works? Eg:
on 01st of march all I-heart community will DO something along with their local church focus on orphans. Until the day comes our commitment will be:
Praying every Tuesday 10:00 pm (whatever)
for what: orphans – local churches projects on 01st of march.
Goal: sponsor 1000 orphans.
Regardless of our location on the planet, we would fills the heavens with prayers, united for a cause in common. In between, people will be continually sharing on the site expectation, preparation, ideas...and after 01st march will come up with the report about the difference that we did together. To continue, we stablish a next date and cause for next month...well just an idea...
Blessings.

Most of people suffer because they need Jesus in their lives, I live in Brazil and the greatest part of he amazon is here. We have about 30 thousand communities in the Amazon, just five thousand of them have churches, imagine how peolpe in this places never heard about Jesus in their lives most of them are indians and worship other Gods, we must pray, and we must go to this places. if we really want to show love we must go to this far places that don't have electricity ,that don't have confort, we don't have fast food, mostly fish, we don't have air conditioner or airplanes, we go by simple boats, sleep in hammocks and any other. Jesus love all this person, but he need people that is open to leave the confort of the city to go the forest and love this persons that are needing medicines, food, drinking water, and any other things.Like I always say God need open hearts to do a revolution! : )

I love the idea of sending the film out to colleges around America. I go to a small Christian college, and everyone here leaps at the opportunity to help out anyone anywhere, but I think it would be awesome to create a huge network of schools eager to reach out and make change. Our generation has a huge passion for others, we just need some help directing it to the right cause.

I was thinking maybe we should attack these problems at their source. In africa a source of alot of their suffering and poverty is the poor undemocratic tyrant leadership. Maybe we could do something that applied directly to the leaders of some of these countries which could change an entire country. Check out the idea -Africa: letters to the source- if you want more details.

It's good when you said that "Love is a declaration not a feeling. Love moves and acts. What is love if it's not shared?"

It's good to have a single vision, and it's good to pray and dream. We can help build wells and free slaves, that's for sure. But wouldn't it be nice if we start from something small? We can make our homes and neighborhood a good place to start by doing random acts of love and kindness.(i.e.Hug our family, give food/money to our neighbors, help them clean their backyard, etc.).

By doing these small but selfless acts, we can show the people close to us just how much God loves them by taking care of their needs.

This love, real love, must be demonstrated

One of the things i love is the concept of building projects that are or promote sustainability within a community.

Communities who are surrounded by poverty face even more difficulties through climate change. Their capacity to recover from natural disasters is often poor due to the lack resources within their hands.

So why don't we with one heart, one hand come together with one village/town/community and offer a partnership. Education on sustainable farming, wells & storing water, gifts of animals, planting of trees, tools, playgrounds, seeds.

Lets build with communities that has revelance to them, hear what they have to say, meet them where they're at and take the journey with them.

Action with heart = love

I think that we can't just try to supply physical or material things. Well, we have to do that, but also, and most important we have to "supply" their eternal life, cuz we already found what it is, and where is our salvation, but there is a lot of people out there that don't have a clue about thier eternal life, so my thoughts are, that, we should mix it all, like we could do missionary work in a lot os different places and in each place i believe God will tell us what to do and how to do, cuz people's needs are different and when we already know what it is, it gets easier to help.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

Today I found a cool clue during research written by Annie Dillard. She talks about giving all we've got, every time. She says not to be afraid to give all we have into a project because it's like well water (clue). Our energy or love for people will stagnate if we try to keep it locked up but if we put all we have into it, like water from a well it will just keep on surfacing and flow out.

I have to say sometimes it's overwhelming seeing what some of you are accomplishing. Thanks for teaching me.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

K this is just another idea...we choose four things that we want to focus on as a focul point. WE will do one every two or three months across the earth, in whatever way possible. Lets say for example we want to build a well, free trafficked women from the sex trade, give to Haiti, and whatever else...any ideas work. At the chosen date we will do anything and everything possible, some of us might team up with others in the area and do a benefit concert, or a community dinner, or a car wash. Maybe some of us can't do any of that so they have a bake sale in front of a grocery store or mow peoples lawns, or do a walkathon. It doesnt matter what we each chose to do, the point is we would be doing something thats possible for all of us. So along with what we will each do, we will send word to all the colleges (christian ones first) in our area/state/country and try to get as many donators, supporters, partakers and whatever else to join the cause. WE as a team, across the earth, will rise up together at the same time and donate to the cause. Then we can send all the money to I-heart or something and I-heart can write that monster check to whatever cause we chose to give to. SOund good? It might need some revising, feel free to add thoughts or take away.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

Reading all the comments above one thought came to my mind... we all have in our hands a “way” which is ready already, practical and effective : online I-heart profile. What I mean by that? Perhaps our main productive action it is to use more our profiles.
In my personal opinion this little space “post a new comment ” is the “gold” of the website. What brings life to I-Heart as a global community it is in SHARING our comments, on what we see, read,think...If we don´t , our profiles become meangless. (sorry if it sounds “wrong” for you).

In this blog we had 44 comments posted so far, personally I always can get something that adds so much to my perspective on justice, hope, life... I was wondering where all these people were before? What about if we all begin to share more our thinking in every article we read... may emerge more ideas, may not, would be valid anyway simply by the interaction.

I know that is a such simple initiative, but I DO believe that if all participate using more our profiles, comments... it surely will help I-Heart to help more people, and that´s where the single vision met.

Well was just a thought...

Yeah, I agree. Hearing all of the different ideas people have has helped shape my perspective too. Its a good idea!

Also, I looked up some human trafficking statistics and they are so gruesome that I think that if we got some of them out there it would awaken people to the reality. The average trafficked human is forced to have sex 20 times a day, 7300 times a year. This is terrible! I say whatever we do, this is one of the things we fight. Theres currently 27 million slaves in the world and for every 800 trafficked, one person is convicted. What if we combined resources and brought it down to 26 million and started setting it on a decline by raising awareness, fundraising, and whatever else?

Good question? If they only traffick women to get water than I guess we get water, but I dont know. Traficking is a mass crime thing for money. Traffickers get an average of 250,000 a year from one trafficked person. I think this might cause for a Wilber Force crazyness. But not quite that extreme because Wilberforcer was alone, we got a whole group of people.

Maybe we could bring a bit of the i-heart movement to our friends via social networking.
It was 'doppelganger week' on Facebook recently which required people to upload a photo of a famous person they resembled and post it as their display pic.
I first got on board with 'doppelganger week' after I'd only seen two profiles with pics and statuses alerting people to what it was about.
Maybe if enough of us via a social network changed our display pics to something (a symbol or photo) that represented one of the 20 causes (and perhaps it could have the i-heart website stamp on it somewhere) and the status could be changed to something like "I'm believeing for ..... an end to loneliness" or something that encouraged people to look and the picture and just get them thinking.... maybe it would catch on like the "Pay it forward" effect. Imagine if we got the facebook community thinking about how they want to change the world..

Every now and again (cos I don't wanna shove a message down my friends throats) I put up a facebook status, usually a quote I've heard somewhere, about justice and changing the world. A very bitter and cynical old highschool teacher I have as a freind on facebook, who has a very bleak view of the world and seems to have recenlty gone through a bit of a personal transition, told me that one of the qoutes I put up as a status (not my own thoughts, but someone else's credited brilliance) was one of the most "insightful" things he thought about all year....... I think we need to not just help those in need but also help others wake up to need and get on board with things like i-heart. Because it's more possible with more of us

I loved your comments Tiffany, especially about the need of people to wake up to HOPE. If we are believing for something people need to know that, my hope may just be the answer for someone who lost it. We have to shout it loud. I-Heart is one of our platforms definately.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

I really like the idea, you can get alot of information out just by social networking. My friend and I were thinking of getting alot of the information about the different injustices around the world and tagging people in a note on facebook. If we all tagged all of our friends and they tagged a bunch of people, than the information would get to alot of people fast and effortlessly.

Also, if we end up doing something with fundraising, I was thinking about how we could get alot of support. I live in Idaho and I was thinking of possibly getting in touch with other people in Idaho and spreading something across the whole state to just try a mass fundraising for whatever cause. If people in all 50 states and all the different countries and communities did this than we would have alot of help. Just a thought.

That's cool. I agree about not pressuring our friends. That's why I'm interested in impacting society with solutions. I want people to see the message in our actions not just our words;)

I think all these ideas are really great! Showing the love in different ways.... I was thinking a little about what kind of organisations I-heart could cooperate with..... I was thinking maybe if we get some artist to support some things as well.... A lot of people look up to artist they listen to, so maybe that can be an idea as well....

Yeah thats true, artists have helped me find charitable organizations before. We already have Hillsong United, but others wouldn't hurt either.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

In this world today, we know of many countries in deep poverty, hungry people, homeless people, homeless orphans, AIDS inflicted children. There is suffering all around the world. The bible tells us to give to the needy, and feed the hungry, and give shelter to those who don't have it. However today, i was thinking about a different meaning behind these messages. I think that there is people all around us who are needy, hungry, and without shelter. Not in a physical sense but in a different sense. People are needy for love, hungry for something that will make them full inside, and they are need of shelter but shelter of people that care for them that will help them through the storms or trouble in their life.

When God created us, he made us with a desire for something huge, a kind of love that only he could give us. There is a hole in us can only be filled with God's love, and he wanted it that way so that we would desire to be with him and seek him. However in today's society, when people feel that empty hole inside, they try to fill it with other things. I'm sure you have all heard a version of this theology but for the sake of those who haven't i'll continue. We see people all around, seeking the approval of others, trying to impress people, trying to make other people like them. I think that its because we have a deep desire to be loved, so we try and try to get other people to love us to fill that hole. Some people however, drift away from people when it comes to this emptiness and they fill it with drugs, and physical pleasures; things that will make them feel good right then and there. They are impatient and they need to fill that hole as soon as possible. But the problem with filling it with those things is that they are only temporary and when the effect is gone, they are right where they started. So some other people try to fill their hole with happiness in this world. Happiness to our society is money, a good job, a nice house, maybe raising a family, raising kids in sports, watching them grow old. as good as those things may be, they won't fill the hole that is in us. So many marriages that were rooted in money and raising kids are torn apart because husbands and wives who still feel that emptiness blame it on their own life so they leave their family and try a new life, some people cheat on their spouses. Correct me if im wrong i think either 1/3 or 2/3 of men that were on eharmony are married men. They feel so empty with their life that they would throw their whole family under the bus so that they can have some pleasure because they HAVE to fill that hole.

Don't you see, we can't ignore this hole inside us, we HAVE to fill it. Now most of you understand this and know that the only thing that will truly fill this hole, this desire for love, is Love from God. But how many of you see people all around who don't know this. We are surrounded by friends and family and people that are close to us that are feeling that emptiness and are filling it with other things. People that we don't know too and people that we know of but aren't that close to. Whoever the people are, they are all around us. they are looking for an answer, they want to know how to fill this hole. We have that answer, we know that the only thing that can fill that hole is God's love, but we are keeping it from them. Now we have all tried to tell people what they are missing but for some reason people just don't want to hear it. they turn a blind ear, we have all gone through this problem. I think that there is many different ways to show them that God's love can fill that hole. One main way that people learn is by watching and learning. If we live our lives right and they see how our lifestyle has changed because of the change we made inside by letting God in, they will be like, "if it worked for them, it could work for me."

Colossians 3:12-14 says, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."

If we live a life that shows compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, then we can be a light to those people who are in the darkness, we can be a beacon of hope for them. This verse also says to forgive each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgiveness is hard, i know firsthand how hard it can be to forgive someone who has done something terrible. But although it is hard, ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. The verse said forgive as the lord forgave you. Our God forgives us daily, no matter what we do. Who are we to not do the same. Who are we to say that oh im sorry but what they did, that's unforgivable. NOTHING is unforgivable. The verse also says, "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." If we live our lives filled with compassion and kindness and forgiveness and all these things, but we do not love, then it is all for nothing. We can't go help a friend and be there for them, yet as soon as we are away from them, talk about their problems to other people and complain about helping them. That is not love. we should help them out of joy and love, not out of obligation. Philippians 2:14-16 says "Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing."

when Jesus was asked, what i the greatest commandment, he replied in mark 12:28-31 ""The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." Jesus tells us to love God, and he says to love others. In the same answer, he put loving others next to loving God. In the same sentence! How important must loving others be that he can put it up with loving God as almost or equal importance! Now loving God, almost means loving others. in Mathew 25:40, it says "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Whenever we love on someone and help someone through anything, or just say something nice to them, We are doing the same thing for God. He wants us to love each other!

The bible tells us a small description about what it means to love people in 1Corinthians 13:4-7 when it says, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Love
1 patient
2 Kind
3 does not envy
4 does not boast
5 isn't proud
6 isn't rude
7 isn't self seeking
8 is not easily angered
9 no records of wrong
10 doesnt delight in evil
11 rejoices with the truth
12 always protects
13 always trusts
14 always hopes
15 always preserves

This bible tells us 15 things to describe love.

My challenge to all of you and to myself because i'll be the first to admit that i don't always love everyone as i should, is to be a loving person towards everyone. not just our friends, or our best friends, or people who talk to us, or people that aren't on our nerves. To everyone. When you are being a loving person, remember these 15 characteristics and ask yourself, "am i following these?" because i believe that if we all become a loving generation and shine our lights like they were supposed to shine, then i believe we can reach people in this generation. Lets not sit around and wait for things to fix themselves. Lets make a difference in this deranged crooked generation.

SHINE YOUR LIGHT!

i think this is a good idea for us to show the love and pass it on............to demonstrate this love we should go to every coner of the world and give them what little we have......it may not be much but to them it means everything......... just like our Lord Jesus Christ did for us...we must also do unto others not mastter how ridiculou the deed looks but for those who we do it to, it means everything......... PASS ON THE LOVE.....<3!!!!!!

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

I just found out that a scholarship in my region is being given out to help an orphanage in India or South AFrica and I"m going to apply for it. It gives complete coverage. The thing is, until today I had no idea it even existed. Its possible there are tons of other scholarships like this out there.

What if we found all the information about these scholarships and a bunch of us got involved in these kind of missions. Personally, it would open my eyes alot to see things first hand.

As far as specific things to do...there are a bunch of specific things we could do as I-heart. We just got to choose the best one. Maybe we could seriously pray where God would have us poor our efforts into.

Do you mean that if you win the scholarship you will be sent to the orphanage to help?
Or that if you get the scholarship you get to put it towards a child in the orphanage?
Either way sounds cool.

Missions are cool. I'm currently researching for one, let me know if you get any for canadians...

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

I have been reading a book recently called "The Poor Will Be Glad"..The primise of the book is micro-financing for struggling communities, BUT the first 4 chapters are about sustainable help in international and local outreach...what i mean is not just applying a bandaid but empowering people to continue in this new received releif..i'm sure everyone has heard the saying..."teach a man to fish, don't just give him a fish"...As important as it is to feed people who are hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, and shelter the wanderer..sometimes we do more damage by just giving temporary "hand-outs"... let's be a generationg of men and women who give "hand-ups"..Let's encourage, empower, and equip our brothers and sisters who are in tough circumstances to take care of themselves in the long haul..so that this LOVE will be contagiuos and so it can be passed on..and on and on...
Let's build a well, not just give a glass of water.
Let's teach farming and agriculture, not just send a meal.
Let's give people tools and training to build, not just send money.

...these are my thoughts...

I agree, what I love about World Vision is they go into a village and just get them on their feet to where they can start being independant. They have transformed entire villages by doing this. Maybe...just maybe, when we come up with the 'goal' for this year, we can get help from World Vision and Compassion/ other humanitarian ministrys...just a thought

It has to come out of my heart and touch the people around me...no matter the cost...no matter how misunderstood it may be...to love is to be persistent...the greatest love pursued me to even the cross. Why should I let misunderstandings between me and others keep me from sharing the love that my Jesus died to show?

Hey,
maybe they're testing our patience...:p
in the mean time would it help if we figured out our priorities for this goal..ie:

target group
facilities
locations
resources-$, #of members
goal dates
outcomes
intercessory prayer & protection 4 the team

These questions came to me while we were doing a school project on how to improve Kenya's health system. it would cost $24000000 just to get mosquito nets for the kids against malaria. And don't get me started on prophylactic cost estimates against HIV.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

We can open up Real Love creches/play schools around the globe for children between the ages of 0-6, especially in disaster-striken areas (e.g. Haiti) and highly impoverished areas in Africa. This will give back to children their right to play, their right to be educated, their right to be nourished, their right to be taken care of, their right to be loved. This will reassure them that even though things around them might not look good, but at least they are still allowed to BE children - God's gift to mankind.

I am based in South Africa and am freelancing for Imbewu South Africa (an NGO based in South Africa) which focuses on taking sports & social outreach programmes to schools in disadvantaged, impoverished and broken down areas in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Their main focus is Sport at Primary & High School levels, what I am saying is let us target small children - get them while their young and unassuming. Rewire their thinking from that of fear, anger & discrimination to that of love, care & acceptance at that early age.

Lets get in touch, lets act.

Be a blessing & stay blessed,

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

Haha yeah maybe theyre just testing our patience. THose are good goals for the goal. So it would cause 24 million just for malaria nets in just Kenya?!? WOw...but I would have to say that would be awesome if we raised that much to and all of Kenya could go without Malaria. It sounds like a huge goal especially with the small amount of people on I-heart right now, but I seriously believe that if we set a goal like that, that GOd would totally bless and it would come to pass. Just think, all of Kenya with Malaria nets or whatever we choose to do.

Re: This love, real love, must be demonstrated

That would be very cool indeed! It's so shocking how many people die of Malaria. Just the nets are'nt gonna cut it though. The people need to know how to use the nets and stick with that. If they get sloppy and leave the nets open, they're of no use. Also, I heard that in a lot of countries it's often too late for the children who have Malaria. When they are lucky enough to go to a doctor, it's too late for the medecin to work and make the child better. That is so sad!
My point is, just the supplies aren't always enough. Although it would be fantastic if we could raise a huge amount of money! And I think Malaria is a very important problem that we should tackle.

Love is expressed by actions, by kindness and pacience and much more. What if I-Heart became an NGO that trained people and gave classes so that this new generation was more aware of the suffering surrounding them beyond what they know and can perceive.
I-Heart could truly be involved with the society by making a significant difference. By giving time not only to teach us what's going on but by a contribution of the willingess to volunteer in which ever area members felt a calling from.
