Welcome aboard!

By I-Heart
4 Nov 2009
Finally!

We are here... but we don't feel for a second that we have arrived. This is only the beginning for I-HEART.

Whether you're in North America, Australia, NZ, South Africa or wherever else we can get it to... and you have seen the film... OR are one of our faithful regulars... we hope that you like what you see...

Now... don't be overwhelmed... I know this all looks a bit more complicated than our old site.... BUT remember... that was just "IN THE MEAN TIME." This is the good stuff. Try and get a hang of it.

Where you find yourself now had been 2 years in the making, after long hours from countless volunteers... Ha ha.... some of you may have even been wondering what we've been doing this whole time... well this is just a sneak peak... There is so much more to come.

But first.... Join our conversation >> "NOW WHAT??"

Maybe you've seen the film, or maybe you're just inspired to be a part of the solution and you find yourself asking that question....

Well.. Let's ask that question together... let's work it out.

We want to be part of the solution... we're all in this together... so now what?

Got ideas? >> share them.

Doing something to help people already? >> share it. Not to boast or be proud, but to inspire others.

Talk soon, ok?

Karla.

Re: Welcome aboard!

I saw the film last nite and was so moved. I'll admit to you all that I did not stay till the end...but not because I didn't want to. When the little girls faces began to flash on the screen..the stories of them being forced into the sex trade...the innocent toddlers standing in the street with cars swishing by..I thought my heart would burst open. I will watch the end eventually, but I pray God will strengthen my heart to not be paralyzed by what I see, but for it to spur me on past the insanity of it all to make a real difference.

Re: Welcome aboard!

I also saw the movie last night... I was seriously moved and motivated to do something, ANYTHING that would serve God's kingdom. The first thing that I couldn't stop thinking about was what I was going to do with my life. I am a part of the younger generation and all my plans for my future seemed motivated by the wrong reasons. I want to live a life that is wholly devoted to God. I want to be on His side and be a part of the solution to all the problems of the world. I was totally fidgeting in my seat in the theatre (movieland) when they emphasized the hopelessness we feel when we look at all the brokenness in the world. Something inside of me was screaming out that I CAN do something! and that is through the power of Christ.
He is the hope and the answer. I can trust in that.

I saw the film this evening with my mom here in Texas, and many parts broke my heart. However, as I watched I felt God calling me to action. I have a couple ideas of what I can be doing now, and I am sure more will come along the way.

Thank you for taking the time to share this with the world. I am ready for the Church to start being what God has called us to be! Thank you for helping be a catalyst for that purpose! Let's get busy!

Re: Welcome aboard!

I just got home from seeing the movie here in San Antonio, TX! First of all I am so thankful of what the Lord is doing through all of the people involved with Hillsong United! Second of all I was so moved by that movie that I am just at home right now trying to decide how to react. I know one thing is for sure, and that is that I want to do everything I can to help! I am going to be checking the site as much as I can for ways I can contribute, and looking for new ideas from people to start something in my community. I just pray that this message spreads, but more importantly that the message of Hope in Jesus Christ spreads and that His love for us, brings us to our knees and prayer and moves us into action. Thank you Hillsong and everybody involved for giving so much to get the message of Christ out to others, and helping to inform people of the large amounts of injustice across the world. The time is now for us all to unite as one, and make a difference!

Great Job!

You all have worked and poured your heart into this and it shows. I just want to say thank you from all of us who have been following and taken part in this movement, revolution, or what ever it really is.

I just got home from watching the film in Louisville KY USA and it was incredible. God has already been working on my heart with regards to the world in which we live for the past several months. And this was just the finishing punch to sell me out on really grasping poverty, pain and suffering within my fellows.

"What can I say, What can I do, but, offer my heart o God completely to you".

God bless all of you at HU and I-Heart! Just got home from watching the special tonight in a theater in Sarasota, FL. Because of other activities, my wife and son were elsewhere, so I took my 16 year old niece and her boyfriend. I found the message to capture the current state of the church and God's plan to carry out the Great Commission in our generation. Praise the Lord!

Thank you Hillsong for allowing God to give you such a worldwide vision. I am from Rhode Island, USA. We were all tremendously impacted by the film tonight. Most of us walked out of there speechless despite the thousands of new thoughts going through our minds. We are so ready to LIVE in " this " moment and show the love of God in every way possible. I am excited about the days to come. We are BLESSED!!!

Re: I Heart Movie

I watched the documentary with three other ladies from my church in Media, PA, and it convicted me in an incredibly powerful way. I'm still processing everything that I saw and heard, but something tangible I can do right away is to share what I learned from the movie with my two young daughters. The most heartbreaking moments for me was just seeing image after image of girls the same age as my own daughters living in abject poverty and being subjected to horrific circumstances that just left me in tears. I want to challenge my daughters and myself to "adopt" an organization dedicated to abolishing child trafficking like IJM and in exchange for a gift on a birthday or Christmas from a relative like an aunt or grandparents, ask them to donate to this particular organization. It's a small step, but teaching my daughters at a young age to think about others and to care about and love people who live halfway around the world is imperative to the kingdom values I want them to have as they move into their preteen and teenage years. But thank you for starting this I Heart Movement and for creating this film to remind all of us that as Christians, complacency and apathy are not options. I'll continue to seek God's will for other tangible steps I need to take.

God bless,

Vera

Re: Welcome aboard!

I've just seen the NYC screening of The I-Heart Film and am honestly blown away. We all just sat there at the end of the film, digesting these words of life, trying to quickly rack our brains for what we could do to bring change to our own part of the world! I don't believe it's going to be a quick solution, something we can just figure out on our own. I truly believe that as the church of Jesus Christ, we need to respond to this call to action and ask God for direction. Ask Him how we each individually can bring change to our everyday lives and the people around us. Faith, Hope, and Love really are the key ingredients that are going to help the Jesus inside of us to be outworked into society.
Thank you I-Heart!! We are moved to action, tears, and to call for the injustices of this world to be brought to an end. We will do our part, we will make it about the ONE.
I filmed my experience of going to The I-Heart Film so that people in other parts of the world could see New Yorker's actually getting excited about the things of God and a movement greater than ourselves.

Re: Welcome aboard!

I watched the film last night with my youth group. Before the film just stting there I remember sensing what was about to happen and hit me so I prayed this. "God tear my heart out...with what I see. Rebuild it to help." As I watched I was moved to the depths of my heart and felt the sorrow God feels. It's necessary to be so one with God you feel the pain and the joy. As I watched God sort of gave me something and it goes like this.

These hands
Do these hands carry your scars?
Do these hands love the way you love?
These feet
Do they show you pierced?
Do these feet walk the way you walk?

If I really love you, I'd love them too
Take my body!
Take my soul!
Oh Lord
Take control!

Re: Welcome aboard!

Just saw the film last night...WoW! I had the privelage of taking my youth group to go see it, the only downside; we had to drive to another state to find a theater that was showing it. I'm a young (26yr old) youth pastor at a church in a VERY small community, and was stoked when I heard about this film coming out. I go to a church of about 170 people, and probably less than five have ever heard about Hillsong and Hillsong United. After we left the theater, everyone was interested in your music and more importantly, the work everyone is doing. Thanks so much for the time that was put into this!!!

Re: Welcome aboard!

You all looked great from where I sat in the theater last night. I went expecting the sing and worship...oops should have read the description to the end.

Then after I adjusted my expectations a little (in theater) I realized that yougave one of the clearest presentations of the heart of God for people that I have seen in decades.

Will you be selling the DVD? I want to share the message with others.

Ahh welcome aboard! We, the church, can truly make a difference. It is so cool to see each member of the body of Christ let God change our hearts to reflect His LOVE.

I just saw the movie in Phoenix, AZ and I am aware, more than ever, of the vast opportunities to love people. Whether it be loving those in my church and community, loving those at work, or loving those that are strangers with a story that deserves to be heard, I will continue to love people and let Christ live through me.

Thank you HU for beginning a revolution where the church begins to live now and realize that we can all DO something...

God, use us to do your amazing and perfect will without conditions or limits. Amen.

this was awesome!!

this film was so great, from the moment the countdown started God was already speaking to me... i was sitting in a theater full of people longing to worship, to kneel before my creator. this was so inspiring yet left me with the question you have already addressed and that is... so what next? it is so easy in our comfortable homes to set idly by while seeing the hurt the world is going through after all it does not directly influence us... but goodness we have to wake up to the Love of God and reach out the broken and show them true life which is found in God alone. i am so excited about taking the steps (more than before) to allow God to use us His people to impact a hurting world! we the church have to awake from our apathy and truly Love God AND LOVE PEOPLE! Hillsong United is great and it is awesome to see how God is using them to impact their world! keep up the amazing work!

I went to the movies last night in Montreal to see the I-Heart Revolution. I must say it was the best 2:30 I have ever spent in a theatre!.....It was heart-breaking, challenging and sooo inspiring! This is really what life is about: Loving God, Loving people...because everything else is meaningless, everything*

So let us be touched and start living the life we were called to live, a life of love, a life of sacrifice.
May God break our hearts for what breaks His, in a way that makes it impossible for us to be inactive.

The Word of the Lord

1Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

3Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

4Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

5Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

6Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.

9Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

11And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

13If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

14Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

I watched the i-heart film last night and it was truly moving. God has always been calling us into action, and I finally feel the urgency that has been impressed on my heart for so long. My prayer is that I and everyone else who was moved by this movement would not only be inspired, but actually move into action and do something about all of this. God has called us to worship in spirit and in truth and he said he hates our songs and our shouts to him if they exist without ourselves reaching out to his people. AAahh i love my King!!

I watched the film last night with a group of friends. I thank you for doing this, making people aware. I am fortunate, far beyond my ability to comprehend, for the parents that I have been given. My parents came out of extreme poverty and they wanted their children to not experience it, like they did...it is the prayer of my heart that I would do for at least one person, what my parents have done for me...give them a future. I will be making my way to India soon, for the Lord has called me there, and I pray more will come with me.

I went home and cried and prayed to God to forgive me for being so selfish and to help me to get to the place where it's not about me anymore but about God and his dream. I want to follow the dream of my Father. I believe his dream for this world is where no one goes hungry, naked, or goes without love. I pray Father you will use me and others that are totally able to help be the children of God you expect us to be. Thank you Hillsong for bringing this to our minds and hearts. We have to stop looking at our reflections in the window and actually start looking through the window.

Once again, I assure you, your time was not wasted in making this movie!!!!!!

Re: Welcome aboard!

This is so amazing how God works. This movie just confirmed me that this is what God wants for the Church: to start ACTING..to be a role model for our world as Christ did. God has been talking to my heart for a while now about doing something exactly like that. I didn't even knew what this project was all about. And to see that He inspired people at the other side of my place to do the same thing He put in my heart touch me so much. Plus during the last months my pastor and youth pastor started to share the same vision. I think we cannot just say "wow it touched me" and do nothing. I think we've done that for way too long. Now is the time to ACT. Well for me if God puts a vision in the heart of people who are that distant (and i'm sure other too around the globe) at the same time it means something: That we should listen and do what he ask! Tks for the website i wont have to build one lol It is exactly how I saw mine in my mind. i don't have any more words. I'm bless!

Re: Welcome aboard!

I saw the movie yesterday with my mom, dad, and sister. It was such a beautiful thing to see most of my family, especially parents, involved in what I have been passionate about for so long. It was so touching because the movie truly described love, and that it isn't just physical needs people have, but the ultimate need for love, acceptance, and TRUTH.

I believe we all need to constantly remember what is the reality for most people throughout the world and remember that even the "rich people" have problems, maybe the worst one: apathy and indifference. Not just seeing a movie can change our ways, but we have to change our whole mindset and how we view others as well as ourselves, and know who we are in Christ. Then, and only then, can we truly be the hands and feet of Christ.

Personally, I need to be more aware of the needs around me and knowing that the Truth will set people free. As in Psalms 119:32, "I run in the path of Your commands, for You have set my heart free." Living for Christ is a lifestyle, which means 24/7, constantly taking up my cross at every moment of the day, and living in the present, because RIGHT NOW is the only time I have.

I honestly did not know what to expect before seeing this film, but I knew it was going to be great. After watching it it exceeded greatness, it I was so inspiring, so moving and so convicting. The message the documentary put across was heard loud and clear, which was what I needed to hear. Everyone in that film was a perfect illistration of the reality of people's lives in all different cultures today. From the rawness of our ignorance to the vulnerability to be loved and then for the desire for justice brought about so many conflicting thoughts and emotions. This film gave me encouragement and hope and I am so thankful for that. My prayer is that this is just the beginning. We are all in this together so lets all put for an effort together to give love and seek justice in this world!

Re: Welcome aboard!

Well it's only a week away and we get to see the premier he in Australia. I organised to have it screen in our local cinema and there is so much expectation for the film! There's a sense every where you travel that it's time to make a change, that we're all working towards the ONE thing and all on the ONE path with many different giftings. I'm excited to see the Film and to go from there! You're amazing God!

Re: Welcome aboard!

Is there an I-heart facebook fan page or group page? Facebook is such a good tool to spread the word. Especially for updates and events...i almost missed the movie showing in the US and have alot of friends that did and facebook and sending out an event might help spread the word and direct people to the cause - which is AWESOME!

Thank you for starting this. Sometimes we just need to be reminded that God can do great things, no matter where we live or how old/young we are!

Re: Welcome aboard!

Sympathy vs Compassion

Yesterday I was reminded of the difference between sympathy and compassion.
Most humans can look at a situation and they will feel sorry as they walk away .
A compassionate person is unable to walk away until they've helped in that situation.

PS.Like the Shepherd in Amos 3:12.

Re: Welcome aboard!

I wanna suggest to everyone to look at it this way.............

The HU and I-heart crew have done something BIG! What they pour their hearts into not only helps the world around them, but inspires US to change OUR world. And They always manage to have more comming! Some new news on what they're doing, another video clip, or testimonial or changed life......Think about this.........

IMAGINE WHAT GOD SEES!
All the things Hillsong is doing, all the things we're doing in our churches and communities and workplaces and schools, and families.....all the poverty that we've begun to attend to, all the lives we've begun to desire to change.....and God, our Father who sees everything and knows everything is smiling on us knowing "There's SO much more to come!" God has only begun to spark a fire on this earth. I don't know about you...but I'm excited, and I WANT to be a part of it!

Do You?

Re: Welcome aboard!

Oh praise the Lord Jesus, this film has set my heart ablaze with a fresh fire for the lost, the broken, the desperate. I love how Jesus is empowering a new breed of radical disciples that will move in love, a new breed of revivalists, of abolitionists, of lovers of the Bride groom. This movie will inspire a generation to live not for them selves but for the greater cause- OTHERS. Wow how awesome is our Lord that
He has chosen for us to be alive in this day, Lets all go to war on injustice and see it demolished and see hope, faith and love spread throughout this nation and the globe.

It's great to see people who are passionned with what others ignore!!! You realy inspired me from day one when I knew I-HEART! I'm on my way preparing and making ready my ideas and projects in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what we should be doing!!! It's a comandment that no one will inherit the kingdom of God without it!!! People need to know that!!! And that's why we got involved in this as a new generation!!! It's inspired!!! It's not a gotten idea!!! I'm looking forward to collaborate with you.

Re: Welcome aboard!

Thanks to the whole team who put this together, i think the main problem isn't if we have time, money or the opportunity... but rather that we are aware of what is going on in the world and not living just within ourselves. i think this generation will be the one to change the world!! :) thanks again!

Re: Welcome aboard!

for some reason I have never seen this!!! Honestly my opinion is that the Holy Spirit is anointing His bride(us) to be the bride He requires from the church -situation: real global outcry for God =real unity from all of us = real change = His glory.

A foolish wife can really make a husband look bad and break his reputation or uplift Him, and it is no different with representing Jesus as His beloved.

ready to go to work!! :)
