Cycle for Zinakekele
HIV/AIDSSouth Africa - Pietermaritzburg
Inspiration
An HIV positive lady named Mary-Jane has looked beyond her circumstance to care for many oprhans affected and infected with HIV/AIDS in a small rural community near Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. She currently makes 130 meals a day and over 30 orphans sleep in her property on any given night.
What
We have started a feeding scheme with them and also plan to build a dormitory for them to sleep in as their current housing is falling to pieces and won't last a lot longer.
How
We are doing a cycle tour from Pietermaritzburg to Kosi Bay and back in order to raise funds for commUN1TY, a non-profit orginisation who supports Mary-Jane. We are cycling 1100km's in 8 days and hoping to build the dormitory with the funds raised...
