A lot of times, when people go out to eat, they don't finish their entire meal. Then, even if they take it home, they may still end up throwing it away if they don't eat it.
How
Restaurants can give customers the option to donate half of their order to a local soup kitchen. The restaurant set aside the half orders and gives them to the soup kitchen at the end of the day.
