The church I attend while away from home for school is doing this for the people of the community.

Preparing Thanksgiving baskets for families that struggle with supplying food for their home. Each week you collect a certain product: corn, green beans, stuffing etc.(bring as many of that one food assigned for that week). Take donations for the purchase of the turkeys. Prepare the meals the sides and the delicious turkey. Then get a group of people(of all ages) to go to homes and hand out the meals personally. This is a great way to reach out to the community and your able to show them that there is a living/loving church down the street from there house!
