Homelessness is a reality all around the world, and it nothing new to the city of Chicago. During the 2008-09 school year there were 74,149 people homeless in our city. 12,525 of those homeless were students. After passing the homeless in our city ...taking the time to speak to them... and often seeing how negative people can be toward them... We think it's important to realize that each person has a story. Many of us are only "1 missing paycheck", or one heartbreak away from from being in the same position as many of them. At one point in time, many of the homeless of today were just like those of of us with homes. Something happened that put them in a bad place, maybe they lost their money - maybe they simply lost their drive & motivation to press through the hard times, or maybe they suddenly found themselves living in the results of a cycle of bad decisions and/or lifestyle choices...

In either case, Seeing the need for restoration in the lives, hearts, and spirits of each of the people on the streets is what has inspired us to do something.

It gets especially cold in our city, and everyone that can is always running for cover. We want to help those that don't have anyone or anywhere to run to.

We are starting out by having a drive where we will collect various necessities for the homeless as the winter season approaches.

We have connected with various shelters in areas where we see a need. We have also chosen one location to begin with. We're currently gathering an army of people that want to help out by giving toward our drive.
