Inspiration
Years ago, I was browsing through trendy shops in my city. I went into one shop and they had taken old sweaters and had made them into skirts. They had also taken two old sweatshirts, had cut them in half and had sewn two of the sides together to create a 'new' piece. The results were very unique and stylish.
How
Get an old t-shirt that you would throw out and redesign it. If you don't have a sewing machine, add some safety pins in random spots on the shirt, or get scissors and cut off the sleeves, or cut off the neck edge. Or, if you have a machine, take the sides of the shirt in so that it fits tighter. You could also make it into a strappless, or one sleeved shirt. Then, take the twenty dollars - or more - that you would have spent on a new t-shirt and send it to an organization that helps alleviate poverty. You will look amazing, and you will feel so good about spending money on someone else.

haha.. nice...i'll have to try that out...even though I'm realy bad at that kind of stuff.
This is something I would love to do if I had the gift of sewing. I may need to get some friends around and have a sewing party.
To expand on your idea we could even sell the items we made and sponsor that money to a cause or organisation or even go to the supermarket or nearest take away, buy some food and give it to people on the street.
Great idea Leesha
Sounds great.. new style and donate money! Gotta try that :-)
